Versatility

IMG_4678.JPG

Versatility is what every dog needs. Most people’s complaints or issues are rooted in their dog’s socialization.

A lot of us believe that if our dogs play with the other dogs in the house or a couple of dog friends they know that they are socialized. Often they can’t understand why the dog lunged at another dog or barks his or her head off when they pass another dog. This is because your dog lacks versatility. Think about if you were limited to only a few people most of your life. Then went out in the world. How social would you be? How comfortable? You would see some very different and new ways and feel very insecure. You may shut down or you may become aggressive because you are scared.

Our daycare is more then letting your dog play and run. It is meant to teach your dog VERSATILITY. To be able to play with all sizes, ages and breeds. We teach the dogs that like to “bully” other dogs that they are not allowed to do this. We teach the dogs that lack confidence by introducing them slowly and making sure they are comfortable. We teach in a calm leadership role. Since opening in September, we have helped quite a lot of dogs gain confidence, learn not to freak out when they see another dog, learn to play in different ways (because every dog plays differently) and have fulfilled them by giving them a job, a purpose. Our daycare is run only by a dog behaviorist and trainer and are watched their entire stay. We value the learning and studying of dog behavior as well.

Our daycare is open Monday to Friday (excluding Holidays and extreme weather conditions)

Our pick up time is 9;30-10:30AM

Play and learn is 10:30am-1:30pm

Drop off time is 1:30pm-2:30pm

Cost $30

Drop offs are accepted as long as the dogs are dropped off at 10:30am and picked up at 1:30pm

All dogs must be vaccinated, have a history of no punctures or serious aggression (if so, they are welcome to get a private session regarding these issues) and must be met by staff beforehand.

Our 15,600 sq.ft. fenced in yard has so much space for your dog to run, play and hang out with a pack of dogs.

We have a large barn for the dogs to come and go if they please, with a wide open door that will be heated in the winter and cooled in the summer. There are dog beds provided in the barn for the dogs that need a rest or snuggle.

We also have a large shelter in the middle of the yard during the summer for shade as well as a vast amount of kiddy pools and water for the dogs throughout their entire stay. New trees have been planted so that shade will eventually be everywhere.

Winter Classes and Updates

Because group classes will not begin again until spring, I have put together mini classes for behavior problems and socialization classes that will be once a month until April.

Mini Classes

$25 per class
This class is to show you a new style of training: TREAT FREE. I will show you how to get your dog to do basic commands as well as work on any behavioral problems you may be having with your dog. Please send me the behaviour problems you are having beforehand so that I can prepare for class. Class may be at a park or at The Canine Bond in Caledonia, depending on weather.

Socialization Classes

This is to better understand your dog and see what healthy play looks like. This is NOT for any dogs that have aggression problems regarding biting.
Class will be held at The Canine Bond in Caledonia.
Please email with your preferred date and payment. I will be limiting it to 6 dogs per class.

The Canine Bond Dog Trainers Course

This 6 week course is an intensive course for those that want to get into dog training, want to broaden their education about dog behavior or those that work in the dog industry and want further education.
Classes start Saturday April 27th and will be every Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm.
You will learn how to teach others how to train their dog, dog behavior including the 13 aggressions, and working hands on with dogs including your own.
You must also complete an 8 week (twice a week) group class with me to gain experience as well as attend 8 hours of studying dog behavior at the dog daycare.
Cost: $3600
Please email if you would like to join our team! This will be the second trainers course that I've taught using my approach (I also taught for someone else for 4 years). We are a tight group that supports and works together. Once you are done this course, you are never left on your own. We are always there to help and support you when you need

Socialization Therapy

The Canine Bond Center provides an environment that focuses on your dog’s socialization skills. The Socialization Program is designed to be at a pace that our dogs are comfortable with and will not overwhelm them.

There are a limited number of dogs in the Socialization Program. We are familiar with all of our dogs. Our goal is to build your dog’s self-confidence, not undermine it.

WHY
A socialized dog is a more stable, well rounded, confident pet with better coping skills.
Lack of socialization can result in a dog that is fearful of people, other dogs and new experiences. Fear can even lead to aggression.

WHEN

The Canine Bond Center is open Monday to Friday for Caledonia residents. The Socialization Program runs on Mondays and Friday, from 10:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. We will pick your dog up in the morning and deliver him or her home in the afternoon.

Saturdays have been set aside for specific behavioral cases.

Socialization programs

This is reserved for Saturdays. This is for dogs that do not get along with other dogs, dogs that have bitten or are too frightened to be in a pack environment. Using my dogs, we work on your dog slowly until he or she builds up confidence and trust to be with more dogs.
This is by appointment only: location is The Canine Bond in Caledonia.
Cost is $20 per hour

I am cutting it off to 7 dogs in class.
